Challenge

Ton Peters, a well-known intuitive life coach and talented tarot expert, asked me to be the co-creator of his latest tarot book. We both felt the need for a more contemporary representation of the ancient Tarot practice, so we decided to take the leap ourselves. Starting with a humble Word document, I developed a unique brand for our self-published tarot book, along with an 80-card tarot deck and a spread board. All made with love and a profound appreciation for this new interpretation of the ancient practice.

SISTER INSIGHT

The tarot card market is ever-growing. What could I do differently to add meaningful value? I noticed that diversity and representation were lacking, so we went ahead and created an inclusive deck that features all ethnicities and avoids using dualistic language, going beyond all prejudices. As well as card descriptions, the book also offers affirmations, meditation exercises, chakra insights, Bach flower remedies, and a spread board to help users formulate powerful questions.

idea & EXECUTION

Just as we were clear on the concept itself, we were equally particular about the look and feel of the deck. We hand-picked the artist to create 80 card designs in line with our strict guidelines around the color palette, composition, and symbolism. While most tarot decks feature dark colors, we opted for a light and bright design that stands out against the rest. We also came up with the brand name and tagline, ‘Tarot of Now – Ancient wisdom for a new reality.’
